that is why i suggested to try swapping them aroundYes. That is the starter solenoid, and one of those wires does run to the ignition coil.
You ever find any luck? It’s about 3 years late but I’m having similar issues and curious on your discovery

2} Check and see of wires are not crossed {switch the wires and see what happens}
