I need the assistance of more experienced individuals. My 1997 ford thunderbird Lx 4.6L was working fine. I shut the car off removed my key and completed my 20 minute errand. When I returned and inserted the key I noticed the instrument panel was already on like the ignition was already in the on position, yet I had not turned the key. I tried to turn the key and found there was no tention when I did. The key just kind of rolled forward. It didn't try to turn over. Nothing happened at all actually. I am able to change gears to every gear without the key in the ignition. I've changed the ignition cylinder and the ignition switch. Someone please let me know what I might try next please.
