This is the type of customer service you can expect from Ford. My next car wont be a ford product. I cant wait to take my bird in for repairs. Already needs new weatherstripping around both the driver portion of the widscreen and driver side hartop. It leaks with even a gently rain..drop..drop..drop onto my arm.Dear Dr. Leslie,

Todd, I am a Ford dealer, not in your area, you don't say how many miles are on the Expedition or the Goodyear tires. I assume that the tires are fairly new replacements for the old Firestones. If your Ford dealer replaced the tires, then he can warranty them if the are out of round or defective, we do it all the time. Most Ford dealers are also tire dealers. I find it hard to understand why a dealer that you have bought an Expedition, a Mustang and a T-Bird from won't help you on a tire warranty. Maybe you got a bad dealer?

I have a crappy dealer that wont help me. There are only 6k on the tires and the expedition has 40k miles (1999). My next car will be an Audi A6...no more Fords. I am done...thanks for your ear and insight.

No, I didnt, but 2 of the 3 were purchased here and I used to send alot of my patients to this dealer for new cars (after there wrecks) as well as for service. Seems they really dont care about good customer service. I even talked to the owner of the dealership who was so full of double talk that it would make a politician envious. Hey, if you want to sell me a car next spring I may be ready for an SUV to lease. I enjoy the southeastern hospitality and charm.

I am sorry that you are having trouble with a dealer that you do a lot of business with. I don't understand why the dealer won't offer you some help, even an adjustment on the tires. Such as you pay $XX and they pay the rest or something. Good luck and if I can help you let me know. John

Tires are a unique area for any car Manufacturer because they let the tire companies handle the warranties because of legal reason. Your whole car is riding on four tires and wheels, a huge legal liability.

This is why dealerships will not switch factory wheels on new vehicles because it makes them liable for damages.

thanks Tbird I didnt know that. I decided to bite the bullet and put some big michelins on it and they ride like a dream. Now I can run over the audi stuck in my parking lot with 6 inches of snow (findlay, ohio)

Ford warranty clearly states they do not warranty tires. The tire warranty is by the tire manufacturer. Ford replaced Firestone tires on Explorer for public relations not because it was reqired by the Ford warranty.Try Goodgear it's their obligation under their warranty.
