2004 Engine suddenly died

My Bird suddenly cut power while driving normally --- no power steering, no engine! Was barely able to glide to the roadside. Battery is new. Alternator fine. Towed to mechanic Saturday afternoon and today, Monday, they still cannot find a problem. Anybody have thoughts?

I will guess that the battery was not properly connected based on the limited data that you provided...

Does the engine turn when you try to start it?
Have they checked the fuel filter and fuel pressure?
Did you hit anything on the road and maybe trigger the inertia switch?

Sounds like you need a new mechanic. Could be a number of things causing the issue including grounding issues. This isn't a common problem so very unlikely anyone online can troubleshoot this.

So, how about some real information? What really happened, did you lose electrical power as your post suggests, or did the engine die? Radically different issues with completely different answers. A dead engine? Check fuel level and pump.
