2002-2005 Custom Stereo Upgrade install advice

Guys
I see a lot of discussion on stereos but I think most of it revolves around replacing factory units with something that fits the original factory set up. What I would like to see is how those of you who have upgraded with amplifiers and subwoofers have done it.

Anyone have pictures? How did you run wiring, where did you put amps and subs, etc?

I am trying to figure out how to go about adding a 5 channel amp to drive door/rear/subwoofer and it would be helpful to see how others have done it. Not a lot of info on thee cars out there.

I like these small Kenwood amps for a sub woofer because they have speaker sensing to turn the amp on/off. You just tie into the rear speakers. Really cool technology.
