03 3xblk bird hard top gasket

mine is 3x black w/o hard top mylar
I purchased black scotch 33 vinyl tape, good electrical tape, ebay
not too sticky, easy on / off
1" will do fine, normal 3/4" is too narrow
when the top is on it will hide tape nicely and won't look bad with top off.
im not the purist type so for me this will be fine

Are you saying you are using 1 inch wide black vinyl tape, installed around the soft top pocket to protect the paint from the rubbing of the HT when it is on the car? If so that is a very clever idea on Evening Black paint. I wouldn't think it will look as good on any of the other colors.
But it could be great protection during the winter months & then removed when the HT comes off for the summer months.

yes it looks like the width necessary.
the black might look ok on white but there are more colors, white, red, blue and others
