She's an Angel
My first car~65 Thunderbird~390 V8~ sequential taillights~ swing away steering wheel??~ very confusing~ Very excited
i like what you did with original is always best in my book
Would appreciate knowing the source for the windscreen. Any chance you modified an existing screen intended for a differant make car?
Yellow top is a nice and unusual touch. Rear appears a little high in the photos, could it be sprung for a continental kit?
she looked good for a long time then when I was traveling the cover flew off and killed the painting top, then time went and added rust. but she is ready for new paint and will be fresh in three weeks. I will add photos as we go.the interior is perfect, 78k all original till we repaint.
you have mine or i have yours first one I've seen with the same color as mine COOL
Nice ride, my favorite color!
Eibach ProKit lowered the car 2" front and rear.
ETA: Rear fenders have been flared/spacered but tire clearance was OK anyway
@Sierra977 did the suspension lower the car, if so, how far?
mustang1 - Thank you.
Grille came from Phil Wegener at Powersport/Thunderbird Specialties. It is powder coated flat black.
Wheels are Jaguar S-Type R "Zeus". Front are 8.0" x 18" and rear are 9.5" x 18".
Tires on the car are Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Front 245/45-18 and rear 275/40-18.
Next set of tires will be Nitto NT01.
Car has suspension work by Texas Track Works in Fort Worth TX.
Stupid question. Is that a painted grille or an after market item. Looks really different, As mentioned above ....car looks sinister and mysterious.
Love the modifications. What are those wheels? They are nice.
Hi, Thanks for the compliment, the car really sits nice & straight. We didn't do anything to the suspension, the tires are slightly bigger than stock, not by much, same width, the tire height is slightly under an inch (.92) higher. I calculated the exact height using a formula I found online. The whitewalls are American Classic, the size is: 235/55R/17 I do feel that in my opinion, the little bit of extra tire height made a difference in how the car stands also thought the ride improved.
Just wondering did you do anything to the suspension. Looks great.bklynjim
That is one fine looking car. I have a 66 Convert that is all original even the top.
Where did you get the fins @retro-bird ?
Please explain the reason for re-wiring the CCRM... my '88 Turbo quits running w/out warning. I am replacing the CCRM again after four years in hopes of retaining reliability. I've literally replaced everything else, including most ground wires. I haven't checked the ground behind the fuse panel. I guess that's next if the CCRM doesn't resolve the issue. I want my car back.
I don't have skirts. I wanted the wheels to show more. Only reason
Thank you. I too love the color combination
Can you add some more photos so I can feature you this week or next week? @RKROLLART
