My 57 engine block stamp reads C1AE 6015R I think this indicates a 1961 292cu inch. Can anyone help me confirmthis? Thanks

Thats correct it is a 61 292 block used in a car or truck

If you enter C1AE 6015R into your searchline you will be able to verify the engine date.
 
Please use a 4 digit model year when posting. It's a 1957, not a 57. This aids in site searches and google searches. Post revised.

No Dearborn blocks after 1957. There were no special truck blocks. Heavy duty trucks with steel cranks used C1AE or C2AE car blocks.
Most Dearborn blocks after 1954 were 272's. Most 292 and 312 blocks are from the Cleveland foundry.

That way they invest something of the question's answer of themselves and will remember longer and improve their skills at the same time. By the way I have a question; Why did Ford change the rear main seal on 312s from the smaller displacement Y-blocks. That experiment is considered by many as a failure. Keep the answers comin' By the way I do like Ron too.

I appreciate your reply and like. However, that is from John Mummert's work, on his Ford y block forum which i provided a link to, because it's a very informative website. But as you can see a moderator was the last to edit that post at 6pm est yesterday.
As to your question of the seal change, I'm not sure at this time why Ford chose to screw up. I ask the same question about the 5.4 liter in the 2000s.

I think the larger question is why Ford went to bigger mains on the 312 . The seal was changed because of the bigger mains.

And yet the 312s are prone to cracking in the webs. Again who knows why?
