still working on completing flush, now when I start engine to let it run and heat up, idle is rough around 750 and when I depress accelerator, engine does not power up. I tried letting engine run for about 10 minutes and temp guage did not move. did not want to run longer, fearing some possible internal damage. any thoughts?

Thermostat, temp sending unit, temp gauge. If it is overheating, thermostat is most likely culprit. If not overheating, the other two items are possibilities. Then there's the dreaded air pocket, about which I know nothing except in can be a pain to resolve. The 750 rpm limit might be limp-home mode if t-birds have that. I'm not sure. I'm hopeful more help is coming your way.
