image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg For those who have been looking in vain for a solution to not having to drill your T-Birds front bumper, I've finally found the solution! Like many of you, I searched in vain for a "floating" bracket. Searching my memory bank I remembered my old 1990 Miata front plate bracket, bought a new one, and low and behold it works for my '04 Bird!

There are two pre-drilled holes for mounting underneath the car but allthough the pre-drilled holes workfor a Miata, the holes are two far inward to be used on your Thunderbird, so instead just drill into the two nearer non drilled "indents" in the bracket and you'll be fine. (You don't even have to cut off the excess metal)

Your front plate will then be mounted with about 3 inches of room "floating" in front of your Bird's bumper.

I'm going to try to attach several pictures including the bracket and the mounting on my car.

Hey, Bob.
Just secure the bracket with 2 fairly small screws/bolts dirctly under the bumper, completey out of view.
Works great.

Bracket in the mail today. Looks great !Florida doesn't have a front plate, and I'm not going to mount the bracket until the car goes to Texas as a gift to my daughter. Thanks for the pics.
Bob

Does anyone know if there is a similar bracket for a 55 t-bird? I can't get it inspected without a front plate but don't want to drill into the chrome bumper.

eBay has the bracket for only $39.95 including shipping. Contact Atkins Rotary Specialists, Inc; by going to:
eBay@atkinsrotary.com and order Item#230917945854.

Reading in the parts for sell section there was a post about a “no drill license plate bracket” used for Miata. In the text about his own installation he states there are 2 holes in the lower front bumper. I don’t. Are there holes in some and not others? I have a 2005. No holes in mine.
